In this shoot I wanted to show how in todays society we are obsessed with having the perfect online profile which includes profile pictures. people act differently when a camera is aimed at them because of the opportunity of a social network upload and likes. Before we used to take pictures for memories and to keep, however we now take pictures to upload to our profiles on sites like Facebook and twitter. I wanted to show how we all strive for this perfect image to represent us online.

Shoot 3
In this shoot I wanted to show how social networks like Facebook can become a form of addiction to some people. Just like actual drugs many get their daily fix of tweeting, blogging and posting, we are now a nation obsessed with social networks. By changing Facebook into a physical drug which you can see it highlights how some people have serious addiction problems with it.
Shoot 2.
In this shoot I wanted to focus on objects which are negatively associated with subcultures like chavs, handcuffs, knifes and police are commonly liked to these groups as they are labelled as criminals. This was a small scale shoot but I think it helped make my original "chav" shoot have stronger images.
This is just one of my basic images where I have changed the image to black and white to give it a larger impact.
Once again this is just a basic image of the objects but I have enhanced it by adding a hard edge effect.
In these next images I have combined the images from this shoot and my previous "chav" shoot, by showing the two images over each other I think it intensifies the stereotype I was trying to portray.
Practical work unit 4.
In my work I am aiming to look at todays society and how things like social networks influence the world. In everyday life we are constantly linked to social media and being watched through cctv, I want to show how these things dominate our society and how many of us are addicted to the idea. I will also be looking at stereotypes within todays society and how they are encourages and influenced by the media, for example the delinquent subculture of chavs. Throughout my work I will be trying to show the effects of such groups have in todays culture.
So far I have looked at the subculture of chavs and how they are stereotypically portrayed through the media, I wanted to show how we all hold opinions of these groups of people. I also then did a follow up shoot where I looked at objects stereotypically associated with chavs like knifes, handcuffs and police badges. I wanted to show how this group is generally linked with negative objects. I then moved onto an experiment shoot where I looked at how many of us are addicted to social networks like Facebook, I took inspiration from one of my images banks for this shoot. I wanted to show literally how social networks are like drugs and many people are addicted to them. I would like to expand more on the idea of social networks and the control they have over our lives. I am going to focus on how this form of observation controls many of our daily routines and many would struggle without their daily fix. I will also continue to focus on how these forms of social media highlight and exaggerate certain groups.

First Photo-shoot - "CHAV"
In these images I have focused on showing the stereotypes we hold of the subculture "chavs", I wanted to show the images and perceptions we hold of this certain group of people. I wanted to show how we view this group to wear certain fashions like hoodies and hoop earrings, if someone decided to wear this clothing does this automatically make them a chave. I also wanted to show the violence associated with chavs, we often think of this group as delinquents who are anti-social and can often commit crime.
